After competing for several years and experimenting with several different hooks profiles and brands, it was very evident that one particular style of jig hook far out performed others in the areas of sticking fish and keeping fish hooked. The style that far performed all others is the hooks with wide hook gaps and shorter shanks. The G2 hook from Highland Rod Co has a hook gap times 2! Hence the name G2.

The steel used in the Highland G2 Hooks is tempered carbon steel. What this means to the fly angler is a very strong hook that is very unlikely to bend out and will stay very sharp easily hooking fish and keeping them hooked!
